About this site

We created Group Chat Games because we were so tired of listening to certain unnamed gaming news outlets and their rubbish takes and ratings. Our goal is to offer a bunch of different takes and let you decide what you agree with and what you don't.

We've decided we don't want to pollute our website with ads, and so we do need help paying the bills. You can join a paid subscriber tier to become a supporter, we have a few ideas for things to do with supporters but for now, it's just a title thing. You can also put in your "Two Cents" by donating to send us a message, if you want to encourage us, or if you want to dunk on one of our bad takes. This is available at the bottom of each review. Finally, if there is a game that you really want us to review you can submit it, we can't accept game keys from anyone other than developers but feel free to send us the name of a game and some money towards buying it.

I'm confused, please help

Our reviews are co-written by a few different authors, each of them shares their thoughts and ratings individually. It's then your choice who you believe. Now, that sounds like a lot of work, but trust me, it comes naturally.

Step 1: Check out a game that you've played (like Minecraft), see what we said about it.
Step 2: Find the authors who you connect with and who's interests line up most closely with yours.
Step 3: When a new review comes out, read your favourite authors' opinions first.

Some other tips

If you can't be bothered reading all of that, we have left you a TL;DR at the bottom. This has our final ratings and short opinion.

If our scores are all of over the place, like Blue gave it a 10/10 but Green gave it a 3/10, that tells you that the game might not be for everyone. But if we all agree on a high or low score, that tells you that most people will either love or hate this game.

About the money

Obviously we need money to keep doing this but all of our writers do this as a side project, if there is money in it, we can invest more time but if there is only enough to cover the costs, that's all good too. If you appreciate the way we run things, feel free to drop a little donation, even the little things help.

Despite our need for money, we aren't taking bribes or letting people pay to bump up the review score. Anybody can check out the submission process for a game, so feel free to check that out. As an added layer of preventing false reviews, our authors don't know how much the game they are reviewing paid us until after the review goes live. We do have a priority system where we sort reviews between community requested, indie, and larger releases. This is to ensure that we don't ignore the smaller games when the bigger releases are happening, so if you submit a game request, it doesn't have to compete with a AAA release. We hope you appreciate our commitment to real reviews.
