Nothing like a good bit of space racism to get the blood pumping.
Helldivers 2 is a unique third-person shooter where you dive to a planet's surface to fight bugs, robots and aliens on your way to complete strategic objectives. It features a special war-table system where your actions and the actions of all your fellow Helldivers contribute to the liberation of planets all across the galaxy. Super Earth High Command issues Major Orders which function as an objective for all players of the game to complete.
Helldivers 2 is both a live service game and an extraction shooter, but it handles these systems in very reasonable and player-oriented manner. Unlike other live service games, you can grind the premium currency (super credits) and purchase "war-bonds" which act as permanent battle-passes. You can purchase super credits using real money, but I don't see why you would if you could grind for them instead. As an extraction shooter, I'm using that term very loosely. The game does feature an extraction system, where you can extract with your loot but this is optional as major objectives are still complete even if you fail to extract. Unlike other extraction shooters, you have more than one life but they are shared between everyone in your squad, oh and friendly fire is on... so maybe keep an eye on your trigger happy friends.
